Create An Instructional Classroom Website: 10-Module Lesson Ready For Your Teachers
I’ve created a two-week course at MyWeb4Ed focused on Creating a Classroom Instructional Website. This course will guide participants through the creation and management of a classroom website. You can access the free course at https://sites.google.com/a/myweb4ed.com/trial/.
The goal is to finish with a classroom website that looks similar to this: https://www.teacherweb.com/TX/MyWeb4Ed/Mortensen/apt1.aspx
This website will provide students with 24/7 access to assignments, projects, reviews, and important course resources. The completed website will also allow parents access to critical information to support classroom activities and increase student academic success.
The completed website will contain the 5 critical pages for a successful instructional classroom website: Home Page, About Me Page, Information Page, Sharing Page, and Assignment Page. The Assignment Page, the most critical of the five website pages, teaches content and provides guided and independent practice to provide students the academic resources necessary to ensure mastery and will be a highlight of this course. Learners will discover the best practices for implementation in a face-to-face classroom setting.

Back to OneNote and Still Using EverNote: Maybe That’s The Way It Should Be?
As you know if you’ve read my blog, I find myself moving back and forth between OneNote and Evernote. OneNote has the best interface by far in my opinion. It’s sleek, easy to organize, and easy to work with. With Skydrive, keeping it available whereever I am is no problem. Evernote, on the other hand, automatically syncs folders I want it to and has the cool feature of the audio notes which I use for so much more than audio notes. I remain…confused….Which will I end up with? I wish Evernote looked like OneNote and then there would be no question. But, it doesn’t..alas…I find it’s interface cumbersome and, well, boring. OneNote is the app I open on my iPad and people want to know what it is because it looks so cool! It’s fun to work in.
What to do? What to do? Tell me, Dear Readers, which is your favorite? Or, is there perhaps another one that I should investigate out there?

MyScript Calculator
Just take a look at this amazing app. There’s a Google Play and Apple App for it and the handwriting recognition is excellent. Strengths:

You have to use this to see how fluid the handwriting is with this. It’s actually fun to write the sentences and the iPad enhances the experience. Just send your list to yourself when you are done to use your list anywhere! Strengths:

Cooliris
I’ve used Cooliris as a Firefox Add-on and it is great! It’s a great way to work with your photos on your computer or do searches and sharing activities. But, now, it’s available on the iPhone and iPad and offers the same cool features. It has a great chat feature, as well. It’s just a great way to search images. Strengths:

Mailstrom – Inbox Zero At Its Best
Today, I discovered Mailstrom! Mailstrom takes inbox organization to a new level, is free right now, and gets you quickly to the ultimate goal of inbox zero! Imagine having your inbox at zero…just imagine!
It’s a very easy process. Simply go their site and enter your email address. Enter a few more details and mailstrom begins separating your email so that you can look at it like you want to. For instance, you can look at by time frame (age), subject, sender, Social, and Shopping. But, my very favorite is Lists. With Lists, you can instantly unsubscribe from those annoying subscriptions you wonder how you got yourself into AND delete the emails all in one click!
For the other views, you have the option of archiving collections of similar items, deleting them, or moving them to another folder. You can even create a rule that will be followed when similar emails arrive in the future.
Now, when I say deleting, I don’t mean that you have 500 emails and you have to delete 50 at a time…I mean, delete…all at once…one click….same with archive and move. Huge timesaver!
By the way, while Mailstrom is organizing one mailbox, you can add others (Gmail and iMap) and then you can clean them all up.
Another plus was that it unsubscribed me using the correct subscriber email automatically. I didn’t have to type it in. It automatically switched to the correct one for the unsubscription process!
Seriously, run, don’t walk to Mailstrom and try out this fantastic program. I cancelled Sane Box immediately and believe I will be using Mailstrom for my email organization needs! LOVE IT!
